The Lord told the prophet what to say, “Here is the man whose name is the Branch, and he will branch out from his place and build the temple of the Lord. It is he who will build the temple of the Lord, and he will be clothed with majesty and will sit and rule on his throne. And he will be a priest on his throne. And there will be harmony.” This was an important type of Christ. The crown was to be given to Joshua, the son of Zephaniah, as a memorial to the temple of the Lord. This was foundation for end times events. The temple will be rebuilt.
The Bible says that there will be wars, famines, earthquakes, persecution, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken. “The sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn,” Matthew 24:30.
To learn that the long awaited Messiah was Jesus all along will cause some to weep when they see his scars in his hands, feet and side. It will be a glorious day for those looking for him. All those born-again will be there following Jesus on white horses. (That is all who knew they were born as sinners, believed Jesus took the punishment for those sins, and ask Him to forgive them.) Those will come from heaven with Jesus on their own horses.
God told Ezekiel that he was withdrawing his favor from his people. The reason was that the people had idols. Four judgments were given as to what the decision was, “A third of your people will die of the plague or perish by famine inside you; a third will fall by the sword outside your walls; and a third I will scatter to the winds and pursue with a drawn sword,” Ezekiel 5:12. This happened in 70 A.D. The Jews stayed scattered until this past century.
Death is the name of the fourth rider, and Hades followed close behind him. Hades is hell. So those who have rejected Christ are the ones referred to here. As Hades follows closely behind death of the unsaved, heaven is waiting for those who accept Jesus. An interesting point is, Death and Hades have been personified here. But that is no problem since Jesus has authority over both.
Jesus said, “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door.”
If you are looking for the Truth concerning the Book of Revelation and the Antichrist, you might want to Google Irenæus, who sat at the feet of one of the most revered martyrs of the second-century Church, a man named Polycarp, who was Bishop of the local church at Smyrna. Polycarp was not only one of the Apostle John’s most well-known disciples, he said, “Regarding the events which shall occur in the time of Antichrist is it shown that he, being an apostate and a robber, is anxious to be adored as God; and that, although a mere slave, he wishes himself to be proclaimed as a king. For he being endued with all the power of the devil, shall come, not as a righteous king, nor as a legitimate king, in subjection to God, but an impious, unjust, and lawless one.”
One day after preaching in Herod's temple, Jesus left the temple area and walked away. His disciples came up to him and called his attention to the temple buildings. “Do you see all these things?” Jesus asked. “Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; everyone will be thrown down.”
This prophecy came true in 70 A.D. when the Romans burned the temple and melted the gold from between the temple stones. These were not little pebbles, but huge stones. The Siege of Jerusalem in the year 70 A.D was a decisive event in the first Jewish-Roman War. It was followed by the fall of Masada in 73 A.D. The Roman army, led by the future Emperor Titus, with Tiberius Julius Alexander as his second-in-command, besieged and conquered the city of Jerusalem, which had been occupied by its Jewish with-standers in 66 A.D.
